Over
2011 our main club layout was Mike's 11th Avenue. However this
year Anson was "brought out of retirement", used for our
monthly meets, and taken to the Plymouth Show in August.
October
Selby was taken to two small shows this month by Steve, Ian, PL-J and
Richard. We have been invited to two more. The signalling
is now working using a Digitrax SE8c as a tempory stand in.
PL-J will be taking Jonesville to NMRA BR convention at Kegworth, where
it will be part of a small layout demonstrating the NMRA BR Modular
"Spec".
15th September Hilltop
Not a lot to report on this meet, again Steve brought the Selby Modules
and Mike brought 11th Avenue. Though it was planned to try some
Time Table work this idea was scrapped as appeared far to
simplistic. However the use of Train Orders is being persued.
Brian, Koos and Mike all took videos.
We are also looking forward to the RS Tower Meet in November, currently
Peter, Pete, Steve and perhaps Mike are bringing modules. Mike
unfortunatly has a lot of work need to "convert" 11th Avenue, and not a
lot of time to do it in.
18th August Hilltop
Mike brought 11th Avenue to this months meet, and Steve brought his new
n gauge Selby modules. He and Peter had a good time getting the
CATs panel to work.
11th August Bearwood
PL-J took Jonesville to the NMRA test of Modules. Also one can see his "silly" corner crossing!

Plymouth Show.

We took Anson to what was probably going to be its last outing at the
show. It went very well. Those Taking part included Mike,
Steve, Brian, Paule, Pete. Ian and Peter.

23 24 June 2012
A lot has been achieved in the last couple of months, culmination in
the Exeter Show, which went very well and was enjoyed by all.
Probably we can do no better than include a few videos, first a quick
over view of the set up:

In the mean time Pete has almost finished the track on his module.
19th May 2012
Hilltop Meeting
21st April 2012
This month Mike brought 11th Avenue, Peter brought Jonesville and Steve
brought Golden and Robs module Ross to our monthly meet.
Including fillers the modules had a 36 foot run which can be seen on Mikes video.
Two of the RS crew also came down and we tested some procedures for
Exeter. The question being could we spot a 10 car train in the
time available.
Again we had a very enjoyable day, and indeed did not pack up until quite late! Work on senicing the modules continues.
The shelving has been fitted, but the haphazard manner in which other users of Hilltop stack stuff makes access difficult.
3 March 2012

We had our first link up with Exeters RS Tower group this Saturday
which was attended by well over 20 people. We took PL-Js. Steves
and Robs modules and Brian, Mike, Pete and Paul also came to help
out. We dispatched using blue tack and train symbols, but
operations were controled by JMRI. Martyn worked out the
programme and very sucessfull it was to. Fortunatly Brian and I
did not realise there were limitations of Hazadous materials when we
did our two runs. Steve unfortunatly had some problems with
his turnouts. Everything seemed to work out and we are all very
keen to get together again.
Mike took a short video of the meet and a longer 20 min one.
22 Feb 2012
Work continues on both our modules and the shelving for Hilltop. Pete is starting
an 16' module and He, Steve and Rob can be seen to the left working on
one of his boards, Brian lurks behind the camera and PL-J shelters from
the cold in the garage. Work on the underside of the board can be
seen, well to the left. A new track plan for Anson has been
proposed, which looks very exciting and has a lot of potential for
operations. It incorporates a full diamond junction.
Brian has also provided us with a video of Saturdays meet, Overnight Indulgence.
21 Jan 2012
This was our first test of the new modules, and a very
auspicious start it was to. One or two minor problems, but
nothing important. We now have a 34' modular "run". Mike
also brough 11th Avenue.
We also conducted a brief trial using JMRIs Car Forwarding. This appeared to be sucessful.
On the right is a view through Jonesville, to Fort Ross and in the
distance Golden. It is interesting to compare the module in the
forground with the photo of it taken two months ago below!
22 December 2011
Work continues on our three modules and planing progresses on Ansons
replacment. In the mean time it is now confirmed that
Anson will
be taken to the Plymouth Show 11th 12th August. We plan to
start
"refubishment" after the Exeter show. Concurrently our weekly
meets continue. Brian has produced Articulated
Consolidation Blues. for our entertainment.
November 2011
The club has decided to build a number of HO modules. To
this
end work has started using Steves garage as a venue. The aim
is
to have them ready for display with RS Tower
at Exeter this summer.
Peter, Rob
and Steve at work.
Brian has again provided a
video of our December meet
The N Scale Sub Division of the Western Union
The N Gauge Sub Division has been busy and has attended three local
shows over the last si

months, At Plympton, Liskard and Holesworthy. At
Holesworthy we got the award for the best layout, and the
photo on the
right showes Richard and Jen displaying our award in front of the
layout. Peter is lurking behind the camera. Richards unnamed
module can be seen in the forground and Maybank to the rear.
